Protech Thanksgiving Tournament
11/28/08:  9-0 Win vs. Old Bridge
The Raiders started their season with a solid performance, controlling this game from start to finish.

11/28/08: 6-3 Win vs. Manalapan
The Raiders overcame an early two goal deficit and scored six consecutive goals to secure the victory.  Marc Moskowitz received the Player of the Game with five goals and an assist.  Rich Grande netted the other goal and Albert Stork had 2 assists.
11/29/08: 7-0 Win vs Woodbridge
Artie Haase recorded the shutout in goal as the Raiders clinched a spot in the championship game with an all around team effort.  The team play has improved each game, pleasing the coaching staff. Marc Moskowitz netted 2 more goals and recorded an assist and Jonathan Weinstein had a goal and an assist.  Mark Benson had his second goal of the tournament.
11/29/08: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME 4-0 Win vs. RFH 
The Raiders won the Thanksgiving Tournament over Coach Oktay's RFH team.  The Raiders recorded their third shutout, running their record to 4-0 and improving with each game.  Mike Maczynski recorded the shutout.  Goals came from four different players.

12/10/08: 3-2 Win vs. St Joe's (S.I.) Vikings
The Raiders extended their season opening winning streak to five.  Artie Haase got the victory in goal in this hard fought win.  Marc Moskowitz opened the scoring for the Raiders; Mark Benson received the "Player of the Game" for his rebound, momentum changing goal, that tied it at 2; and Jonathan Cleary got the game winner in the third. 
12/13/08: 3-1 Win vs. Monsignor Farrell
Martin Bernstein received the "Player of the Game" for his game winning goal and his all around game, playing both forward and D in this game.  The Raiders extend their winning streak to six with help from Marc Moskowitz, with a short-handed goal and an assist, and Rich Grande with a power play goal that sealed the victory.
12/15/08: 3-1 Win vs. Monsignor Farrell
The Raiders swept this home and home series from the Lions tn this exciting and tough game, extending their winning streak to seven.  Mike Maxzynski recorded the victory and received the "Player of the Game" with 41 saves.  Marc Moskowitz remained "on fire" with two goals and an assist and Rich Grande added a goal and had a beautiful asist.   While the Lions outshot the Raiders, the defense did a good job of limiting second shot opportunities.
12/20/08: 2-2 Tie vs Jaguars
The Raiders rebounded from a slow start and a 2-0 deficit to earn the tie and remain unbeaten.  Playing short-handed the Raiders took control of the game late but could not take the lead.  Mark Benson received the "Player of the Game" for his momentum changing play and Tyler Bao added a goal.
 
ICEWORKS Holiday High School Tournament
12/26/08: 7-5 Win vs Marple Newtown
The Raiders rebounded twice from three goal deficits, scoring five goals in the third period to win the opening game of the tournament.  Marc Moskowitz received the "Player of the Game" for his 2g, 3a performance (which cost his mother a new stick) including the game winner with 31 seconds remaining.  Welcome back to Michael Rossi.

12/26/08: 2-2 Tie vs ISHL
This was a tightly played, fast paced contest, with the Raiders having a slight advantage in shots and scoring chances.  The Raiders goals came from the sticks of Marc Moskowitz and Rich Grande in the second period.  Albert Stork received the "Player of the Game" for his strong defensive game.
12/27/08: 1-4 Loss vs. St. Mary's (N.Y.)
The Raiders suffered their first loss of the season to a strong AA+ St. Mary's squad.  The squad looks to rebound in the playoffs and prove it belongs and can compete at this level.  Rich Grande had the lone goal for the Raiders.
12/28/08: Semi-final 1 Win vs ISHL
The Raiders rebounded with their best performance of the season in this playoff win.  Artie Haase received the "Player of the Game" for making  strong saves early in the game.  The Raiders then shut down their opponents and allowed only 2 shots on goal in the last 23 minutes  while controlling play with a total team effort.

12/28/08: Championship Game: 2-3 Loss vs St. Mary's
The Raiders were looking forward to the challenge of this rematch vs 9-peat (1999-2007), NYS State Champs and gave their opponents a battle to the final horn.  The Raiders gave up two goals in the last half minute of the second period to fall behind 3-0 but refused to give up.  They showed great character in battling back to 2-3 (on goals from Marc Moskowitz and Tyler Bao) with just over 6 minutes remaining and maintaining pressure on their opponents throughout the remainder of the game.  Mike Maczynski recived the "Player of the Game" for a strong effort in goal.
 
1/4/09: 11-0 Win vs Aviator Gulls
The Raiders continue to paly well domination the Gulls.  Nick Haase received the "Player of the Game" and Artie Haase recorded the shutout.

1/10/09: 4-0 Win vs. Lawrenceville JV
Four unanswered goals in the third period broke open this game as the Raiders outshot their oponents 31-16.  Martin Bernstien got the Raiders on the board early in the third and Rich Grande, Albert Stork and Michael Habib completed the scoring.  Michael Maczynski received the "Player of the Game" for the shutout.
1/18/09: 5-8 Loss vs. Blazers
The Raiders came back from two 2-goal deficits to tie the game at 4 entering the third period, before losing to a talented Blazer team.  The goal tying the game at 4 came off the stick of Theo Silverberg with an assist from Josh Stein.  The Raiders got away from their usually solid defensive zone coverage in allowing too many good chances and goals.
1/24/09: 3-2 Win vs St. Joe's (S.I.)
The Raiders took both games this season by identical 3-2 scores.  The Raiders outshot the Vikings 31 - 15.  The "Player of the Game" went to Marc Moskowitz with 2 goals and an assist.  Michael Rossi had the snipe of the game on the first goal.
1/31/09: 0-1 Loss vs Jaguars
Mikw Maczynski made 33 saves in this rough and tumble game, allowing only a third period goal.  The Raiders were short-handed , but displayed the effort that we are used to seeing.
 
Midget Major AA - Presidents' Day Tournament - Skatezone
2/14/09: 0-1 Loss vs Valley Forge
2/15/09: 2-4 Loss vs Balzers
2/15/09: 0-1 Loss vs Kings
The Raiders played well in allowing only six gaols against in this Miget AA tournament, but could not find the net often enough.  A pair of 1-0 losses prevented the Raiders from making the playoff round and all three games were closely contested. 
 
2/21/09: 3-3 Tie vs. Blazers
The Raiders completed their season with a 3-3 tie vs the Major AA Blazers.  This third contest was another top caliber game, showing the ability of the Raiders and the overall level of their play.
